Project Title

Social Capital in the Pakistani Music Industry

Description

The purpose of this study is to find what role does social capital play when it comes to Pakistani music. For instance, how does social capital link people together in various areas of life, within the realm of music and how can it possibly carry the same importance as other spheres. There is a lot of research on social capital and how it is created and used in communities but there seems to be less research on how social capital is manifested in Pakistani music contexts. The study of the creation of social bonds because of music will broaden our understanding of social capital. We will also give particular attention to the social capital value of music experiencing, producing and learning offer. By articulating, interpreting, and comparing different resources critically, we will clarify our queries and will achieve the desired goal of the study.
